I designed my range of programmed controllers specifically for the model fair. They allow the fairground modeller to faithfully replicate the lighting sequences seen on full size rides.
Each unit has more than thirty programmed sequences. The controller runs through each sequence ten times before moving onto the next one. When all of the sequences have been worked through the controller goes back to the beginning and starts all over again. A control is fitted to allow customers to vary the speed at which the sequences run. The boxed controllers have a switch fitted which allows individual sequences to be selected and run continuously. Customers’ own sequences can be programmed in at extra cost. Full instructions are supplied with each controller.
Controllers for Light Emitting Diodes (or a small number of bulbs) – Programmed 6 and 8 channel controllers with a capacity of one Amp per channel. The numbers of LEDs quoted below assume that the LEDs are wired in series strings of five on 12 volts or six on 13.8 volts with each string drawing 10mA. These controllers need a regulated power supply of 12 or 13.8volts DC of adequate current rating to suit the number of LEDs or bulbs being used.
The 8 channel unit will control up to 4800 LEDs when running off 13.8volts (4000 on 12volts) or 200 12 or 14volt .04Amp filament bulbs.
The 6 channel unit will control up to 3000 LEDs when running off 13.8volts (3600 on 12volts) or 150 12 or 14volt .04Amp filament bulbs.

These units are available as a bare board just 44mm x 34mm so that they can be fitted within a ride or the rotating parts of a ride. The latter has considerable advantages as only one set of slip rings will normally be needed. They can also be supplied fully boxed with input and output plugs and sockets and a metre of cable to connect to the ride.
Controllers for filament bulbs – (interior shown in photo) Programmed 6 and 8 channel controllers with a capacity of 4Amps per channel. These operate from a mains to 12volts AC transformer of adequate capacity for the number and rating of bulbs being used. All filament bulb controllers are supplied boxed with input and output terminal posts and output fuses. The ‘electronic switches’ that turn the lamps on and off are very conservatively rated at more than four times the maximum current and are fitted with heatsinks to keep them cool. These measures ensure a long life and cool running.
The 8 channel unit will control up to 800 12 or 14volt .04Amp bulbs or 640 12 or 14volt .05Amp bulbs.
The 6 channel unit will control up to 600 12 or 14volt .04Amp bulbs or 480 12 or 14volt .05Amp bulbs.
