1/24th Scale News and Sales Items

Having been in business for 37 years I am now running down to retirement.  Anyone interested in taking over the business in full or in part is invited to contact me. I shall be able to continue providing plans and instructions ad-infinitem and kits and parts as long as I have stock.  I shall no longer be building complete models to commission.

1/12th SCALE GALLOPER MODEL
A truly superb model of a galloping horse roundabout in 1/12th scale, i.e. 36″ in diameter,  built to a very high standard forty or more years ago.  The model is driven by a steam centre engine which runs on compressed air.  The model was built using the MFD5 galloper plans and instructions and is therefore perfectly to scale.  The builder was an engineer and the model has a number of extra features including universal joints to drive the cranks.  For further photos and details and to make an appointment to view contact me.  Offers based on £6,000 are being invited for this exceptional model.

I have been asked to sell four models owned by the late Brian Bayliss.  Two of the models were made by Vic King and the other two are Brian’s own.  Brian worked very closely with Vic and all of the models are of the very highest standard.  All of the models are lit by filament bulbs and the painting is excellent.  The models have not been used for some years and will need light recommissioning.

  • 1/24th scale set of Chair-o-planes built by Vic King. This was the prototype model for Vic’s MFD 8 set of plans and instructions from which many hundreds have been built.  This model earnt Vic a Gold Medal at the National 51st Model Engineer exhibition.
  • 1/24th scale Ben Hur Speedway built by Vic King. The Noah’s Ark was one of Vic’s favourite rides and, apart from plans and instructions for ‘standard’ Arks, he designed and helped modellers build different variations based on them.  The ride comes with two converted die cast lorries, one equipped with a DRE generator set and the other with a platform body.  Another award winning model.  Photo to follow.

  • 1/24th scale Moonrocket built by Brian Bayliss using Vic King’s draft plans. Vic assisted with the mechanism of this model.  The ‘Moonrocket’ sign above the front board is powered by one of my six channel lighting controllers.  One packing truck is included.  There is a box containing power supplies for the two motors.  The whole ride fits inside a purpose built wooden carrying case.

  • 1/24th scale Monster built by Brian Bayliss with considerable assistance from Vic King. The model is based on the ride owned by Whiteleggs.  The whole ride fits inside a purpose built wooden carrying case.  The rear and side rounding boards are made and the insides painted.  The design for the outside of the boards has been pencilled on ready for the top coat of paint to be applied.
Until I have completely sorted out the models I will not be able to give prices (so please don’t ask).  This is an early opportunity for those seriously interested to let me know.
