Electric Travelling Scenic Railway

Eight blueprints of a typical travelling electric scenic railway.  Drawn by B B Murdock between 1961 and 1966 and published in his ‘Showland Library’ series.  I acquired the copyright  to the whole series of drawings in 1991 from Bernard Murdock and am pleased to be able to make them available again.  These rides were popular in the Edwardian period with the last few surviving in static parks into the 1960’s.  Whilst drawn in 1/24th scale the blueprints are dimensioned in full size so that a model can easily be built in any scale.  The drawings include details of the organ truck, which forms the centre of the ride, and of a peacock car.  Some experimentation with the levels of the three rails will be needed to get the ride to run smoothly.
